Luke’s Story
Luke Alexander Bresette (June 4, 2002 – March 22, 2013) was a lively, golden-hearted boy with blond hair and irresistible dimples. The middle child of five, he energized his family and bonded easily with all his siblings.
A passionate sports fan and athlete, Luke loved the Royals, Chiefs, KU, Butler, Notre Dame, and Marlins. He excelled at baseball (second base), football (defensive tackle), and basketball (point guard), helping his team win a 5th-grade city championship.
Adventurous and mischievous, he lived every day fully—playing war in the backyard, pulling pranks, and embracing the motto of asking forgiveness rather than permission.
Tragically, at age 10, Luke was killed at Birmingham Airport when a flight information board fell, also severely injuring his mother Heather and brothers Tyler and Sam. The family endures lasting grief from his sudden loss.
